A Great weekend for the Alt-Country/Americana/Rockabilly scene in weekend, part 2

Posted in Uncategorized by Extradition Music on May 3, 2010

Saturday night was one of the truly inspiring moments for me with respect to the country/rockabilly scene in Reno.  The Alley opened in Sparks just four months after the closing of Vixens.  Jeremy and Chapin have truly transformed the place.  It is clean, crisp, and has a great feel.  Best of all, the sound is really amazing.

Saturday night was The Alley’s christening.  They had music from The Cowbelleros, The Saddle Tramps, and The Disciples.  Perhaps the best part of the night, though, was when Chapin, the birthday boy, got up on the stage and sand three songs with the Cowbelleros.  You could tell that he’d been waiting a while to blow off that steam.

The crowd was huge and appreciative.  They truly have quite a scene there, and they have done an amazing job of cultivating it.  It is going to be a lot of fun to host some Extradition shows there, like the one we have coming up on May 15.
