Clydesdale at the Ale House

Last night we had our latest Extradition Music show  with The Clydesdale out of Las Vegas, Nevada.  They played a two-hour set last night at the Rail City Ale House to a, shall we say, intimate but appreciative audience.  This was a make-up show for us–weather kept them from coming to Reno for one of our shows back in January–and we are so grateful that we were able to take them up on the rain check.

I’ve been listening to The Clydesdale on their MySpace page since a friend from Vegas told me about them last year.  I’ve always liked their recorded sound, but I was simply blown away by what they sound like in person.  They are, without a doubt, the real thing.  They mix all of the greats–Elvis, Merle, Cash, Owens, and more–with their own unique, snarling sound for what is, in my opinion, some of the best live music I’ve seen in a very long time.

Paige Overton, the lead singer/rhythm guitarist, is probably the biggest reason for that.  She may be one of the most enjoyable singers around the alt-country scene today.  She belts out old country standards, and their new rockabilly/punk/country songs.  The rest of her band–Andrew, Jason, and Courtney–are certainly no slouches either.  They bring a personality with them that isn’t what you might think of when you think of Vegas Cowpunk.

We certainly want to get The Clydesdale back to Reno again sometime for an even bigger audience.  They really killed it, and we really appreciate them playing an Extradition show.
